Job summary

Glencore is seeking an Artisan (Electrician) to maintain MV reticulation infrastructure at our steelpoort mine, both on surface and underground. Reporting to the Coordinator Engineering, you will ensure a reliable high-voltage power supply and support production targets.

The role requires a Trade Test Certificate with a Full N2, Grade 12, and at least three years of mining experience. You must meet MHSA/HSEC standards, provide a PoE, and demonstrate strong problem solving and communication

Qualifications

Trade Test Certificate and Grade 12 are required.
Full N2 Certificate with relevant trade theory is required.
Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) / SETA statement of results / Learnership agreement in support of the trade.
Minimum 3 years’ artisan (Electrician) experience in a plant and mining environment.
Medical fitness for surface and underground.
Operational problem solving and decision making.
Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

Install and maintain MV reticulation infrastructure at the mine, both on surface and underground.
Provide continuous MV power supply to support mining operations.
Perform planned maintenance, breakdowns, and project-related work.
Ensure compliance with MHSA and mine standards and procedures.
Report to the Coordinator Engineering and help meet production targets.
Comply with the company’s HSEC system.
