Job summary

Mventech Group in Centurion is seeking an Intermediate Engineer to lead the logistics workstream across mining studies and implement advanced simulation and modelling techniques. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to optimise material handling and ore transport systems for major mining clients, while mentoring junior engineers and driving data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering (BSc or BEng).
• 3–5 years' experience in mining studies within engineering consulting/EPCM.
• Strong knowledge of underground and surface mining operations, material handling and ore transport.
• Experience with DES and logistics modelling software (Simio, Arena, or equivalent).
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, including Power BI, Excel, and Python.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead logistics workstream on mining studies across concept, pre-feasibility and feasibility phases, ensuring scope, schedule, and quality.
• Develop, calibrate, and run DES models to evaluate system performance, fleet requirements, and production targets.
• Conduct time and motion studies and analyses to optimise material handling and ore transport systems.
• Prepare technical reports and client deliverables detailing modelling results, assumptions, sensitivities, and recommendations.
• Contribute to project schedules, work breakdown structures, and CAPEX/OPEX estimates for logistics scopes.
• Collaborate with mining, process, and infrastructure teams to align logistics designs with project objectives.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers to improve modelling methods and study quality.
• Drive innovation by advancing automation and data-driven decisions across the toolset.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards and client expectations.
