Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Community Liaison Officer to bridge the gap between mining operations in Randburg and surrounding communities. You will build positive relationships, address concerns, and facilitate transparent communication about mining activities as part of the company’s social responsibility and sustainable development efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in community engagement, social development, or public relations, preferably in mining/resource sector.
• Proven ability to build trust and maintain constructive relationships with diverse community groups.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Understanding of social impact assessment principles and community development frameworks.
• Willingness to travel regularly within the designated project area.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement community engagement strategies and plans.
• Act as the primary liaison between the company and local communities, stakeholders, and leaders.
• Organize and facilitate community meetings, consultations, and information-sharing sessions.
• Address community grievances promptly and seek resolutions.
• Communicate project updates, impacts, and benefits to the community in an accessible manner.
• Monitor community sentiment and provide feedback to management for project decisions.
• Support social development and local economic empowerment initiatives.
