Placements24 is recruiting a Mine Surveyor specializing in open-pit operations near Randburg. You will measure and map mine sites, ensuring alignment with design plans and providing critical data for planning, production, and geology models.

You will use GPS, total stations, laser scanners, and AutoCAD/Civil 3D to deliver accurate maps and models. Strong attention to detail and collaboration with engineers and geologists are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in Mine Surveying or Geomatics.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, with open-pit mining exposure.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar surveying software.
• Experience with GPS, total stations and drone surveying technologies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct topographic surveys, volume calculations, and setting out of mine infrastructure and work areas.
• Operate and maintain advanced surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
• Process and analyze survey data using specialized software to produce accurate maps and models.
• Collaborate with mine engineers, geologists, and production teams to provide timely survey support.
• Ensure compliance with survey standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
