You will set performance targets, manage budgets, foster a strong safety culture, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a seasoned mining professional with a proven track record in underground mining leadership and a passion for driving operational excellence through a distributed team structure.

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing all aspects of underground mine operations , including planning, production, maintenance, and safety.
• Developing and implementing strategic business plans and budgets for the mine.
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable mining, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Leading, motivating, and developing a team of mine professionals and supervisors.
• Implementing best practices in operational efficiency and cost management.
• Fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring adherence to rigorous safety standards.
• Liaising with senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• BSc/BEng in Mining Engineering or a related discipline, with advanced management qualifications preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in underground mining operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Proven experience in managing complex underground mining projects and large operational teams.
• Strong knowledge of various underground mining methods and technologies.
