Job summary

Zizwe is seeking a seasoned Mine Manager to lead day-to-day operations of an opencast mine in the North West region. You will oversee extraction, ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act, and drive cost-effective production schedules.

The ideal candidate has a Degree in Mining Engineering, a Mine Managers Certificate of Competency, and at least eight years of opencast experience, with own transport and a medical assessment likely.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering is required.
• Mine Managers Certificate of Competency is required.
• Opencast Blasting Ticket is required.
• MHSA knowledge and compliance.
• 8 years of opencast mining experience.
• Own transport with a valid driver’s license.
• Medical assessment will be carried out.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day mine operations within your area of responsibility.
• Lead cost-effective extraction and ore optimization.
• Ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act.
• Compile monthly progressive plans.
• Develop weekly production schedules for the pit and plant.
• Provide leadership, communication and management.
• Lead pit design and scheduling activities.
• Maintain discipline and ensure customer satisfaction.

• - Opencast Blasting Ticket
• - Eight (8) Years’ experience in the Opencast mining industry
• - Own transport with a valid driver’s license is a requirement
• - The successful candidate will be required to go for a medical assessment

GENERAL DUTIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• - Responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the mine within your area of responsibility
• - Lead the team in the cost-effective optimization and extraction of the ore
• - Ensure compliance in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act
• - Compiling monthly progressive plans
• - Weekly production schedules of the pit and plant
• - Responsible for leadership, communication and management
• - Responsible for the pit design and scheduling activities
• - Ensure discipline is maintained- Ensure customer satisfaction
