Job summary

Sasol Limited seeks a Foreman for Mine Closure to oversee closure activities within the Sigma Defunct area, spanning Sasolburg and surrounding lands. The role focuses on engineering process management, water supply coordination, and safety compliance to ensure reliable equipment and timely project delivery.

You will lead operations, manage contractors, and implement SOPs while mentoring team members and coordinating resources to achieve closure objectives across geographically dispersed sites.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in mining closure, rehabilitation or related areas.
• National Senior Certificate or N3 with Maths, Physical Science and English is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee closure activities across Sigma Defunct area, including privately owned land.
• Manage engineering processes to ensure equipment availability and reliability.
• Manage water supply from Sasol Mining to farmers and assist in providing alternative water supply.
• Coordinate and execute mine closure projects and related activities.
• Lead, supervise, and coordinate daily operational activities to meet objectives.
• Manage contractors and service providers to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant work.
• Ensure safety, environmental, operational and regulatory compliance; conduct risk assessments.
• Develop and adhere to SOPs, guiding procedures and legislative requirements.
• Manage budgets and control costs to support objectives.
• Ensure maximum availability, reliability and performance of equipment.
• Provide coaching and training on maintenance and operations; mentor team members.
• Allocate resources to ensure efficient execution and objectives.
