Job summary

SLR is expanding its presence in South Africa and seeking a capable professional to join the closure team. You will manage closure related projects, coordinate with Practice and Business Leads, and collaborate with clients to devise compliant mine closure strategies in a dynamic environment.

The role requires 1-2 years in consulting, GIS proficiency, and the ability to travel as needed. A BSc in Engineering or Environmental Science is preferred, and experience with spatial data analysis is

Qualifications

1-2 years’ experience in a consulting environment.
Project management experience would be beneficial.
Experience in working with a team and travel.
BSc Engineering/Environmental Science or similar. Proficient with GIS and spatial data analysis.

Responsibilities

Manage closure related projects - provide support to Practice and Business Leads.
Consult and collaborate with stakeholders to provide solutions for clients.
Calculate mine closure costs meeting all requirements.
Liaise with clients and financial auditors on mine closure liability queries.
Develop and implement mine closure project plans for decommissioning and rehabilitation.
Conduct audits and reviews of mine closure plans and liability assessments.
