Job description
Overview

Our client, a market leader in the Automotive Component Manufacturing Industry, is seeking to employ an experienced trade tested Millwright to their team to be based in Port Elizabeth. An awesome opportunity!

Requirements
  • Millwright Trade Test is essential.
  • Up to 3 years of technical, electrical, and mechanical maintenance experience as a millwright in a manufacturing environment.
  • Computer literacy (basic MS Office; SAP, ERP systems, and other job-specific software).
  • Knowledge of relevant maintenance practices, designs, methodologies, and SOPs.
  • Understanding of housekeeping and safety principles.
Responsibilities

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  1. Engineering and Maintenance Control
    • Diagnose the root cause of equipment failures and execute plans to rectify these failures through timely repairs.
    • Ensure minimal equipment downtime and damage by addressing faults, defects, and failures as quickly as possible.
    • Maintain optimal equipment operation by applying relevant technical and engineering practices and obtaining manufacturing process approval for equipment operating conditions.
    • Support and liaise with Production by proactively identifying potential problems, resolving process-related issues, and planning maintenance for production runs.
    • Perform “first off” inspections on all process changes to determine the exact state of equipment.
    • Conduct routine inspections to detect possible equipment failures or excessive wear, diagnose issues, and perform necessary maintenance work.
    • Periodically inspect manufactured products against quality requirements to ensure compliance with set standards.
    • Coordinate the availability of parts to execute preventative maintenance routines.
  2. Compliance
    • Report risks or areas of concern to management within your area of responsibility.
    • Promote compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures to prevent wasteful, and irregular expenditure.
  3. Cost Control
    • Support the effective and transparent use of financial and other resources.
    • Limit expenditure, reduce costs, and ensure that deviations from budgetary limits are reported to the direct manager.
