Introduction
Are you a hands-on technical expert with a passion for keeping complex automated systems running smoothly? We're looking for a skilled Millwright to join our fast-paced logistics team in Durban River Horse Valley. The successful individual will actively maintain operational equipment through planned preventative maintenance, thereby eliminating unplanned production lost time and extending the life span of equipment though equipment efficiency and eliminating downtime while maintaining a high-level health and safety. This role requires a blend of electrical and mechanical expertise, a proactive maintenance mindset, and the ability to troubleshoot in a high-pressure logistics environment.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- To conduct electrical planned preventative maintenance to eliminate any unplanned breakdowns.
- Conduct root cause and fault analysis to any component removed during scheduled or breakdown related tasks.
- Conduct quality control inspections on work carried out.
- Ensure lock out procedures are implemented and applied to all tasks.
- Carry out shut down maintenance to automated equipment as per schedule.
- To correct various program logic, electronic and electrical type of faults on to support safety, quality and production.
- Required to work Shifts including Dayshift, nightshift as well has callouts and weekends where required by business.
- To attend to electrical breakdowns and repairs within the distribution center to ensure the efficient running of operations and improving production up-time.
- Assess breakdown root cause and develop countermeasures to prevent re-occurrence.
- Inspect buildings, equipment and systems to identify any issues.
- General repairs and Maintenance with facilities.
- Repairs and maintenance to Conveyors and Extender belts, motors and Gearboxes.
- Repair faulty equipment units and damaged structures
- Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.
- Assist and support contractors with new installation and do validation and as building after completion of projects.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

- Grade 12.
- Red Seal Trade-Tested Millwright.
- 5 years' experience in logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing (highly automated environments preferred).
- Solid understanding of conveyor systems, PLC-controlled equipment, and LV switching.
- Skilled in electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repairs.
- Experience in implementing preventative maintenance routines.
- Willingness to work shifts, including night shift, weekends, and attend to callouts.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience assisting with installations, upgrades, or project support is advantageous.
- Technically strong Millwright with a proactive maintenance mindset and the ability to make sound, practical decisions under pressure.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in both electrical and mechanical domains.
- Reliable team player who can also work independently in a fast-paced environment.
