Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a qualified Millwright for our client in Vereeniging, Gauteng. The role focuses on installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery, including conveyors and pumps, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of Millwright experience, strong mechanical know‑how, and the ability to read blueprints and use precision tools. The position offers ongoing training and stable employment in a demanding plant environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Millwright with a recognized trade certificate.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven Millwright experience in an industrial plant.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings/blueprints.
• Skilled with precision measuring instruments and hand/power tools.
• Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with safety in focus.
• Physically fit for demanding industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair a wide range of industrial machinery and mechanical systems.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to address issues.
• Troubleshoot and dismantle/reassemble machinery, identify root causes.
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical manuals.
• Fabricate, fit, and align machine parts using precision tools.
• Operate lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and standards.
• Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities and parts used.
• Assist in training junior maintenance staff.
• Respond to emergency repair calls to minimize downtime.
