Job summary

Staff Solutions Recruitment is seeking a qualified Millwright for our client in the Eastern Cape. The role covers mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance on plant and production lines, fault-finding on motors, MCCs and control equipment, and the installation and commissioning of new machinery.

You will need at least 5 years post-trade experience, a Matric/NTC 3, a Millwright trade test (Red Seal preferred) and a valid Code EB licence.

Qualifications

• Matric / NTC 3 qualification is required.
• Millwright Trade Test (Red Seal preferred) or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years post-trade experience in industrial manufacturing.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on production machinery.
• Experience with hydraulic/pneumatic systems, conveyors, gearboxes, belts and chains.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cost-effective mechanical, electrical and instrumentation maintenance on plant and equipment.
• Fault-find and repair production machinery, MCCs, VSDs and control systems to minimise downtime.
• Install and commission new plant and machinery safely and efficiently.
• Record maintenance work accurately on job cards and keep equipment knowledge up to date.
• Maintain housekeeping and health and safety compliance; perform standby and overtime as needed.
• Identify and requisition spare parts; support maintenance programme improvements.
