Job summary

SKILLS CONNECTOR in Gauteng is seeking a Trade Tested Millwright with strong mechanical and electrical skills to maintain food manufacturing equipment. The role requires 3-5 years of artisan experience and a valid driver’s license.

You will perform daily checks, record faults, adhere to health, safety and food safety procedures, and support maintenance planning and building/site upkeep.

Qualifications

• Trade tested artisan with Millwright qualification.
• Minimum 3–5 years time served artisan experience within a food manufacturing environment.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily checks on machinery and record faults on the checklist.
• Adhere to health, safety and food safety procedures and lockout systems.
• Ensure maintenance tasks on planned and preventive schedules are completed within time frames.
• Report deviations from the planned schedule to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Report breakdowns immediately and assist with safe repairs within agreed time frames.
• Delegate tasks to maintenance assistants and follow up for completion within time frames.
• Complete daily/weekly/monthly checklists and report faults to the Maintenance Manager.
• Perform building and facility maintenance as required.
• Participate in stocktakes and report items to be ordered.
• Plan for projects with required spares/equipment and ensure on-time delivery within budget.
