Job summary

Network Contracting in Cape Town is seeking a hands-on Millwright to service and maintain production equipment across moulding, assembly, printing and conveying lines. You will diagnose faults, perform planned maintenance and maintain accurate registers.

The ideal candidate has a recognised Millwright trade certificate, matric, at least three years post-trade experience, and the ability to read drawings. Overtime and after-hours support may be required.

Qualifications

• Millwright Trade Test Certificate required.
• Matric or equivalent qualification required.
• Minimum 3 years' post-trade experience in production/manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding capabilities.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Willingness to work overtime and provide after-hours breakdown support when required.

Responsibilities

• Attend to mechanical and electrical breakdowns and restore equipment to operation.
• Diagnose recurring machine faults and identify root causes.
• Maintain moulding, assembly, printing, conveying and ancillary production equipment.
• Repair motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains and shafts.
• Conduct electrical fault-finding on panels, sensors, relays and motor circuits.
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems and schedules.
• Establish and maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
• Record breakdowns, repairs, parts used and downtime.
• Maintain machine/equipment registers and stock levels.
