Job summary

Werfnet in South Africa is seeking a qualified Millwright to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will maintain, repair, and troubleshoot production machinery to ensure optimal plant performance and minimal downtime.

Requirements include a recognised Millwright trade qualification and 3–5 years of relevant post-qualification experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills. Willingness to work shifts and overtime is expected.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting production machinery and equipment to ensure optimal plant performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Conduct fault-finding and breakdown repairs to minimise production downtime.
• Maintain and repair motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and related machinery.
• Carry out installations, servicing, and equipment upgrades where required.
• Work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Inspect machinery regularly to identify potential faults and prevent breakdowns.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report recurring equipment issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency.
