Job summary

Halewood South Africa is seeking a qualified (Red Seal) Millwright for our Benoni-based engineering team. You will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault-finding, and breakdown repair on production, packaging, and utility equipment.

Responsibilities include fault-find/repair motors, drives, sensors and control circuits, carry out preventive maintenance, support installations and commissioning on projects, apply lock-out/tag-out and safety standards, and accurately record work

Qualifications

• Red Seal Millwright trade qualification with N3.
• Minimum 3 years post-trade FMCG/manufacturing experience.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Fault-find and repair motors, drives, sensors and control circuits.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs on equipment.
• Support installations, modifications and commissioning on projects.
• Apply lock-out/tag-out, electrical-safety and food-safety standards.
• Record work orders in CMMS and hand over to production.
• Contribute to root-cause analysis and PM improvements.

Qualified Artisans — Fitter / Millwright / Senior Fitter · Benoni, Gauteng · Halewood South Africa

A qualified (Red Seal) Millwright for Halewood's engineering team: electrical and mechanical maintenance, fault-finding and breakdown repair on production, packaging and utility equipment.

• Fault-find and repair motors, drives, sensors, control circuits and basic PLC I/O.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs on packaging and processing equipment.
• Support installations, modifications and commissioning on engineering projects.
• Apply lock-out/tag-out, electrical-safety and food-safety standards on every job.
• Record work orders accurately in the CMMS and hand over clearly to production.
• Contribute to root-cause analysis on recurring failures and improvements to PM routines.

Qualifications & experience

• N3 with Red Seal Trade Test as Millwright / Electro-Mechanician (essential).
• 3+ years' post-trade experience, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing.
• Electrical and mechanical fault-finding; VSDs, sensors and control circuits.
• Basic PLC knowledge (Siemens / Allen-Bradley an advantage).
• Methodical, safe and responsive during breakdowns.
