Job summary

Sidel is seeking a Non Rotary Equipment Mechatronics Field Service Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. You will execute mechanical, electrical, and automation tasks, perform troubleshooting on PLCs and HMIs, and test equipment performance at customer plants.

The role requires a strong mechatronics background, significant travel (up to 90%), and experience in the beverage industry. A degree in Mechatronics/Electromechanical engineering is preferred, with knowledge of SIDEL

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics or Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3 years of working experience in related field activities.
• Experience in the beverage industry or equivalent.
• Willing to travel up to 90% in international environments.
• Knowledge of SIDEL portfolio (Overwrapping, Packer, Palletizer, Depalletizer or similar) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute Mechanical, Electrical works and Automation troubleshooting (cable wiring, mechanical installation & adjustment, PLC programming logic).
• Operate mechanical systems and HMI for regular activities and troubleshooting as per SOPs.
• Operate electro-mechanical systems and HMI for regular activities and troubleshooting as per SOPs.
• Test and evaluate equipment performance at customer plant based on technical, contractual and safety specs.
• Handle, check and transfer equipment non-conformities.
• Submit working time and technical reports for carried-out activities.
• Ensure customer satisfaction both internally and externally.
• Follow SOPs, Sidel coordination plan rules and customer rules.
