Job summary

Kontak Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to support the design, execution and on-site delivery of mechanical projects across South Africa and the African continent, including installation, commissioning and handover. The role combines mechanical design, project engineering and fault-finding, with client engagement and travel for approximately four to six weeks per project.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3-5 years' experience in mechanical engineering and/or project engineering focused on rotating equipment.
• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor - essential.
• Experience supporting or managing mechanical projects from design through to commissioning.
• Confident communicating with clients, contractors and senior stakeholders.
• Willing and able to travel nationally and across Africa for ~4–6 weeks per project.
• Able to work independently and in a multidisciplinary project team.
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.

Seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to support the design, execution and successful delivery of mechanical engineering projects across South Africa and the African continent. This is a hands-on role combining mechanical design, project engineering, fault-finding, client engagement and on-site project support. The successful candidate will be involved in projects from initial planning and design through to installation, commissioning and final handover. The role is suited to a committed and driven Mechanical Engineer looking for a long-term opportunity within a growing engineering environment. Experience working with industrial rotating equipment, including gearboxes, turbines and blowers, will be highly advantageous.

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 3 - 5 years' experience as a mechanical engineering and/or project engineering specific to rotating equipment
• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor - essential
• Experience supporting or managing mechanical projects from design through to commissioning
• Confident communicating directly with clients, contractors and senior stakeholders
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis abilities
• Experience with rotating equipment such as industrial gearboxes, turbines or blowers highly advantageous
• Willing and able to travel nationally and across Africa for approximately four to six weeks per project
• Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle

• Represent the business professionally during site visits and project assignments across Africa
