Job summary

FM Staff is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with at least three years’ experience in Wet Services for Building Services in Cape Town. You will design and monitor wet services such as HVAC, plumbing, and related utilities, working under a senior engineer.

A degree in Mechanical Engineering and registration (or eligibility) is preferred. Proficiency in Revit, BIM360, AutoCAD, and Navisworks is highly advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level mechanical engineering degree is required.
• Professional registration (Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng) or eligibility is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Wet Services within Building Services is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead wet services design and documentation for building projects.
• Monitor construction on wet services works and ensure quality and timelines.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and guide junior team members.
• Travel as required to project sites and client meetings.

We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer with at least three years' experience in Wet Services in Building Services.

Requirements

• Must have a B Eng / BSc / B Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Must have minimum 3 years post-graduation working experience in specifically Wet Services.
• Experience related to Mechanical engineering, specifically Public Health/ Wet Services, designs and construction monitoring on either or multiple of the following sectors will be advantageous:

• Data Centres
• Healthcare Facilities
• Clean Rooms
• Advanced Manufacturing

• Must have a good understanding and working knowledge of Revit and BIM360.
• Experience in HVAC, Medical Gases, Mechanical Utilities, Fuel System Design, Vertical Transportation and Fire Engineering Services will be highly advantageous.
• Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng or eligible for professional registration.
• Code B drivers license and own vehicle for daily commute to work and back.
• Computer literacy (programming skills will be advantageous).
• Experience in various Autodesk products (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM360 suite).
• Must be self-motivated.
• Task orientated.

• Excellent communicator and good discussion and problem resolution skills.
• A self-starter who can run with and manage his own projects with the guidance of a senior engineer.
• Skilled in fluid-dynamics and pipe network design principles.
• Skilled in thermodynamics for water heater systems.
