Job summary

Globe 24-7, in partnership with a leading mining company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Mining Services & Waste Management to join their team. You will support senior engineers in delivering mining and waste management projects, assist with design, planning and site preparation, and gain hands-on exposure to tailings, slurry, pumping and waste systems.

The role requires a BSc/BEng/BTech in Mechanical Engineering and 3-5 years of relevant experience, with willingness to travel across Africa

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng/BTech in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 3-5 years relevant engineering experience.
• Mining industry experience preferred.
• Experience with mechanical equipment, pumps, slurry systems beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support senior engineers with the delivery of mining and waste management projects.
• Assist with mechanical engineering design, planning and site preparation.
• Support site inspections, installations, commissioning and maintenance activities.
• Assist with the assessment and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Work closely with senior engineers and site personnel to develop practical engineering solutions.
• Assist with technical documentation, drawings, reports and project records.
• Gain hands-on exposure to tailings, slurry, pumping and waste management systems.
• Support project mobilisation and demobilisation activities.
• Travel to remote and challenging mining operations across Africa.
• Learn and develop technical expertise through hands-on project exposure and mentorship.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
