Placements24 is seeking a dynamic Mechanical Engineer to design and implement automated systems in Soweto. You will work on robotics, conveyors, and custom machinery, applying mechanical and mechatronics principles to improve manufacturing efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in mechanical design for industrial automation or robotics.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and familiarity with automation components.
• Experience with mechatronics and system integration.
• Experience with project management in manufacturing/engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems for automated equipment, including robotic cells, conveyors.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings for fabrication and assembly.
• Select motors, actuators, sensors, and control systems.
• Integrate mechanical designs with electrical/automation systems.
• Conduct performance testing, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Develop documentation including manuals and maintenance procedures.
