Placements24 in Sandton is seeking a Mechanical Controls Engineer to design and implement integrated mechanical and control systems for industrial applications. You will work closely with electrical engineers and software developers to deliver state-of-the-art automation solutions.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics background with 4+ years in mechanical design and automated systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
4+ years of experience in mechanical design and automated systems.
Knowledge of PLC programming and HMI development advantageous.
Familiarity with motion control, robotics and industrial automation technologies.
Strong understanding of mechanical principles and electro-mechanical integration.

Responsibilities

Design and develop mechanical aspects of automated systems, including actuators, linkages, and robotic integration.
Specify and select mechanical components such as motors, gearboxes, sensors, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to integrate control systems with mechanical hardware.
Develop and test control logic and parameters for optimal system performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and control system issues on-site or remotely as needed.
