Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a proactive Mechanical Engineer to support production in Queenstown. The role focuses on optimizing processes, troubleshooting on the line, and implementing improvements to boost efficiency, quality and safety.

You will collaborate with production, maintenance and QA, develop SOPs, and participate in new equipment design and tooling. This is a hands-on, practical role requiring strong problem-solving and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering role.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery and automation.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical systems in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate technical support for mechanical issues impacting production lines.
• Analyze production data to identify opportunities for process improvement and waste reduction.
• Implement modifications to machinery and processes to enhance performance and reliability.
• Develop and update SOPs for mechanical equipment.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team on equipment repairs and preventative maintenance strategies.
• Participate in the design and implementation of new manufacturing equipment and tooling.
