C3 Resource Investments (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Draughtsman (Mid-Level or Senior) to join its specialist mechanical engineering team in Centurion. You will develop detailed 3D models, fabrication drawings and technical documentation for pressure vessels, heat exchangers and related process plant equipment.

The role targets 5–10+ years of hands‑on experience, including practical exposure to pressure equipment design and fabrication.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years experience in mechanical draughting and 3D modelling in an engineering/industrial environment.
• Practical exposure to pressure vessels, heat exchangers and related equipment.
• Proficiency with 3D design software including Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings for pressure vessels, shell-and-tube heat exchangers and associated mechanical equipment.
• Produce general arrangement, assembly, manufacturing and installation drawings.
• Prepare BOMs, drawing registers and technical documentation.
• Interpret engineering calculations, equipment datasheets, specifications and design sketches.
• Detail pressure equipment components and ensure compliance with codes and project specs.
• Coordinate with Mechanical Engineers, designers, fabricators and other disciplines.
• Review and update drawings based on changes and quality feedback.
• Provide technical guidance to junior draughtsmen where appropriate.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Mechanical Draughtsman (Mid-Level or Senior) to join a specialist Mechanical Engineering team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing detailed 3D models, fabrication drawings and technical documentation for pressure vessels, heat exchangers and associated process plant equipment.

This position is ideal for a technically skilled draughtsman with 5–10+ years' experience, including practical exposure to pressure equipment design and fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings for pressure vessels, shell-and-tube heat exchangers and associated mechanical equipment.
• Produce general arrangement, assembly, manufacturing and installation drawings.
• Prepare bills of materials (BOMs), drawing registers and technical documentation.
• Interpret engineering calculations, equipment datasheets, specifications and design sketches.
• Detail pressure equipment components, including shells, heads, nozzles, flanges, supports and internal assemblies.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant engineering codes, fabrication requirements and project specifications.
• Coordinate with Mechanical Engineers, designers, fabricators and other engineering disciplines.
• Review and update drawings based on engineering changes, fabrication feedback and quality requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to junior draughtsmen where appropriate.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Mechanical Draughting or Technical Draughting qualification.
• 5–10+ years' experience in mechanical draughting and 3D modelling within an engineering or industrial environment.
• Essential: Practical experience with pressure vessels, heat exchangers and/or associated pressure equipment.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD or comparable 3D mechanical design software.
• Experience producing detailed fabrication drawings, mechanical assemblies and manufacturing documentation.
• Sound understanding of pressure equipment components, materials, welding and fabrication practices.
• Familiarity with relevant pressure equipment codes and standards, including ASME Section VIII, EN 13445 and SANS 347, advantageous.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications, equipment datasheets and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail, technical problem-solving and ability to work independently.
