Job summary

Jendamark Automation is seeking a capable Design Engineer to join the design department. You will contribute to delivering engineering designs and solutions tailored to customer requirements and specifications.

Within a team, you will be exposed to ECR designs and detailing for fixtures, select components, and assist in creating manufacturing-ready release packages while following ISO procedures and keeping costs in check.

Qualifications

• Formal tertiary education in mechanical engineering or mechatronics.
• Relevant design-focused capabilities and engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Work with design team to deliver engineering designs meeting customer specs.
• Assist in detailing of small fixtures, tools, and SPAs.
• Assist in selecting components to meet design objectives and procurement needs.
• Collaborate with Assembly/Commissioning during project phases.
• Create design release packages for manufacturing under mentorship.
• Contribute to maintaining budgets and ISO procedures.

Basic Requirements

• Formal Tertiary education : N. Dip or higher in Mechanical Engineering Or
• Mechatronics Degree
• Drivers License : Code 8 - required
• Languages : English (speak, read, and write)
• Afrikaans (speak, read, and write)
• German (Advantageous)

Experience

• Basic hand sketching skills
• Basic understanding in concept development
• Basic machine calculations & FEA Experience
• Basic understanding of material specification & processes
• Basic time management skills
• Must be able to operate in Team environment

Job Objectives

• To work within the design department team to deliver engineering designs and solutions specific to customer requirements and / or specifications.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

• Exposure to ECR Designs & Detailing for small fixtures and tools.
• Exposure to Design & Detailing of small Special Purpose application.
• With assistance establishing most effective design solution to achieve required specification.
• With assistance to specify components for the purpose of procurement.
• Continuously engage with Assembly and Commissioning during phases of the project.
• With mentorship be able to create design release package for manufacturing purposes.
• With mentorship be able to create final designs within a controlled budget environment.
• To comply with ISO procedures of Jendamark.
• Must be a Team player.
• Ability to use own initiative.
• Actively reduce costs. Provide suggestions and opportunities for cost savings.
• Understand and comprehend facility purpose and objectives.
• Basic calculation of stresses, forces and accuracies.
