Job summary

Jendamark Automation in South Africa seeks a Design Engineer to join the design department. You will deliver engineering designs and solutions that meet customer specs, perform concept development, calculations, and support ISO procedures.

The role requires a relevant engineering qualification (N. Dip or higher in Mechanical Eng or Mechatronics), a Code 8 driver’s license, and good communication in English and Afrikaans. German is a plus.

Qualifications

• Min 1 years' experience in a design capacity.
• Competent in concept development, design calculations, and FMEAs.
• Machine calculations & FEA Experience.
• Understanding of material specification & processes.

Responsibilities

• Design & Detailing of small Special Purpose application.
• Establishing most effective design solution to achieve required specification.
• To specify components for the purpose of procurement.
• Detailing of Designs in conjuncture with the assigned Senior Design Engineer / Design Engineer.
• ECR Designs & Detailing for small fixtures and tools.
• Assembly assistance during the assembly phase of the project.
• Create design release package for manufacturing purposes.
• Create final designs within a controlled budget environment.
• To comply with ISO procedures of Jendamark.
• Must be a Team player.
• Ability to use own initiative.
• Actively reduce costs. Provide suggestions and opportunities for cost savings.
• Understand and comprehend facility purpose and objectives.
• Calculation of stresses, forces and accuracies.
