Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop new mechanical components and assemblies for mining equipment, including excavators, drills, and conveyors.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using CAD software.
• Perform structural, thermal, and dynamic analyses to ensure design integrity and performance under extreme conditions.
• Work with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure designs are optimized for production and assembly.
• Oversee the testing and validation of prototypes and production units, identifying and resolving any design issues.
• Contribute to product improvement initiatives, focusing on durability, efficiency, and operator safety.
• Investigate field failures and implement design modifications to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with procurement on material selection and supplier evaluation.
• Maintain accurate and organized design records and documentation.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements relevant to mining equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a strong preference for experience with heavy industrial or mining equipment.
• Proficiency in advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo) and simulation tools (FEA).
