Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Design Engineer with HVAC expertise to join our Paarl team. This hybrid role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for diverse projects, blending on-site collaboration with remote work flexibility in the Cape Winelands.

You will collaborate with project managers, clients, and installation teams to ensure efficient, reliable HVAC solutions that meet specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of HVAC design experience.
• Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, Trace 700.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and air distribution.
• Understanding of sustainable design and energy efficiency standards.
• Excellent communication and coordination for teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify HVAC systems (air handling units, ductwork, piping, controls).
• Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system performance analysis.
• Create detailed design drawings, schematics, and 3D CAD models.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to integrate HVAC.
• Conduct site visits for inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
