Job summary

Geotech is seeking a Design Engineer with a strong mechanical and structural background to lead heavy engineering projects across mining and materials handling sectors. You will design mechanical plants and installations, prepare detailed drawings and BOMs, and ensure designs meet international standards.

The role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, supporting installation and commissioning, and driving design quality from concept through to fabrication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and PrEng certification.
• Proven experience in a project environment within mining or materials handling industries.
• Strong CAD capability using SolidWorks and AutoCAD; familiarity with ANSYS and Rocky for FE and conveyor design.

Responsibilities

• Develop concept and detailed designs for structures and conveyors using 2D/3D CAD tools.
• Provide technical support to sales to ensure accurate bids and robust project planning.
• Lead multiple engineering projects from estimation to design and tender submission.
• Create drawings and BOMs; prepare fabrication documentation and cost estimates.
