About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team in Randburg . This role is central to designing, developing, and testing new mechanical products and systems. You will be involved in all stages of the product lifecycle, from conceptualization and detailed design to prototyping and manufacturing support. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent CAD skills, and a passion for creating high-quality, reliable mechanical solutions within a collaborative office environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop mechanical components and systems using 3D CAD software .
• Perform engineering calculations and simulations (e.g., stress, thermal analysis) to validate design integrity.
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are optimized for production and assembly.
• Support prototype development, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical designs.
• Maintain design documentation and participate in design review meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor).
