Job summary

Mecad Systems is looking for a qualified individual in South Africa, Gauteng, to perform key responsibilities such as Finite Element Analysis and general mechanical design work. Candidates must have a strong background in pressure vessel calculations and project management functions.

The ideal candidate should hold an Eng Mechanical or BSc.Eng Mechanical degree, possess relevant experience in a design environment, and be dynamic and self-motivated.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years experience in a design and consulting environment.
• Experience in Finite Element Analysis.
• Exposure to 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor.
• Experience designing various pressure equipment.
• Experience in the petrochemical industry is beneficial.

Objectives:

Short Term

In the short term, a person employed in this position should strive to become proficient with software's, analysis techniques and design codes frequently used in the design of mechanical equipment.

Medium Term

In the medium term, a person employed in this position should be confident in their ability to perform and make decisions regarding the design of mechanical equipment in an independent capacity, with minimal input from senior engineers in the firm.

Long Term

In the long term, a person employed in this position should aim to become a professionally registered engineer who would be employed as a senior engineer within the firm. In the long term, the person employed will also be charged with providing mentorship to junior engineers within the firm.

Required Education and Training:

Education
