Barloworld Equipment South Africa is seeking an experienced Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic to perform planned and breakdown repairs, service and maintenance on equipment at customer sites or BWE workshops.

The role requires a diesel/eartmoving mechanic trade qualification (NQF 3), Grade 12, CAT knowledge and strong diagnostic ability. You will compile MIRs and TA reports, maintain a professional image, ensure safety, and manage administrative tasks with attention to warranty procedures.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
• Trade qualification in Diesel/Earthmoving Mechanic (NQF 3) is required.
• Computer literacy with ability to read and interpret basic reports.
• CAT machine knowledge and technical skills are essential.
• Good communication and basic report writing abilities are expected.
• Driver’s license – Code B is required.
• Understanding of warranty systems, policies and procedures is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Perform planned and breakdown repairs, services and maintenance on earthmoving equipment to supplier standards and customer requirements.
• Diagnose machine systems on customer sites or at BWE sites and carry out repairs.
• Compile accurate customer machine analyses and reports, including MIRs and TAs.
• Maintain a professional image when representing BWE.
• Ensure safe work practices and control contamination.
• Manage own admin (labour bookings, service reports, parts returns, expenses).
• Follow through to ensure quality and productivity standards are met.

Key Outputs

• Perform planned and breakdown repairs, services and maintenance on Earthmoving Equipment and components to supplier standards and customer requirements
• Quickly and efficiently diagnose machine systems and carry out repairs, services and maintenance on Earthmoving Equipment on customer sites or at BWE site.
• Compile accurate customer machine analysis and reports including Machine Inspection Reports (MIR’s) and Technical Analysis Reports (TA’s)
• Maintain professional image when representing BWE
• Ensure safe work practice
• Control Contamination
• Control own admin (labour booking, service reports, part returns, expenses etc.)
• Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Qualification in relevant trade (e.g. Diesel Mechanic/Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic) NQF 3
• Computer literate
• CAT Machine specific technical knowledge and skills
• Sound interpretation of communication skills
• Basic technical report writing
• Basic business and financial understanding
• Some computer literacy (SIS, STW& ET) knowledge
