Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (NQF Level 4) is essential; maths and science helpful.
• National Diploma or Higher Certificate would be advantageous.
• At least 5 years planning/scheduling experience in heavy fabrication; mining machinery exposure is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Create master workshop schedules in Microsoft Project for parallel workloads (new builds, spares, breakdowns).
• Balance work distribution across machine, fabrication and assembly shops; identify critical path to anticipate bottlenecks.
• Track daily jobs and WIP; forecast completion dates based on performance data and machine availability.
• Provide scheduling support to optimise workflow between departments; update schedules from lead times and order updates.
