Job summary

Emgodini Mining Services invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Master Artisan to be placed in Rietberg Mine, near Springbok, Northern Cape. The successful candidate will report to the Site Engineer and lead maintenance teams.

The role requires a Trade Certificate, Grade 12, a Code EB license, strong leadership, analytical skills, and extensive experience in mining equipment, drills, LHDs and trucks. All appointments follow equity guidelines.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent.
• Section 26DTrade Certificate / MIETTB Trade Certificate through a registered body.
• Valid Code EB driver's license.
• Fully Computer Literate.
• Analytical and attentive to detail.
• Team leadership and management skills.
• Sound listening and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Engineering installations are constructed according to agreed standards, procedures and specifications.
• Engineering equipment is repaired and maintained according to agreed standards and schedules.
• Planning and control of engineering work.
• Compliance with SHEQ, EMS and client standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols.
• Cost containment, high mean time to failure after repairs.
• Competent, motivated, disciplined and positive team.
• Effective self and team supervision in alignment with EMS values and leadership initiatives.
• Coaching and training of apprentices and artisans.

The successful candidate will report to the Site Engineer.The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates.Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience

• 5 year's mining industry experience (underground and surface)
• 5 year's trade experience as a Artisan Fitter/ Artisan Diesel Mechanic
• Demonstrable experience in coaching and training of apprentices and other artisans
• Extensive experience working on Drills Rigs, LHD and DumpTruck
• Extensive experience in hydraulic and Electrical fault finding
