Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead the Vereeniging plant. You will oversee all manufacturing activities, drive productivity, quality, and safety, and align operations with strategic goals.

You will manage production teams, implement Lean and Six Sigma improvements, maintain equipment, ensure compliance, and collaborate with supply chain, QA, and engineering to optimize costs and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in manufacturing operations management.
• Proven track record of improving production efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with production planning, scheduling, and inventory control systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct all manufacturing operations in the Vereeniging plant to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize costs.
• Oversee the maintenance and operation of manufacturing equipment, ensuring safety and reliability.
• Lead, train, and motivate the production workforce, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with supply chain, quality assurance, and engineering departments to streamline operations.
• Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions to address performance issues.
