Job summary

Mecad Systems in Durban seeks a skilled Production / Manufacturing Manager with a strong technical background in metal fabrication and SolidWorks design to oversee factory operations and drive production performance. You will manage the factory team, lead production meetings, ensure targets and quality standards are met, and independently produce technical drawings in SolidWorks.

The role requires overseeing production projects, providing technical support, and liaising with sales and customers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering.
• Proven experience in production or manufacturing management.
• Strong understanding of metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and able to draw independently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall production and manufacturing operations.
• Provide direction to the Factory Manager.
• Lead production meetings and monitor operational performance.
• Ensure production targets, quality standards and deadlines are met.
• Independently produce and modify technical drawings using SolidWorks.
• Provide technical support to the drawing office as needed.
• Resolve technical and manufacturing challenges.
• Liaise with sales teams and customers regarding technical and product requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve production processes and operational efficiency.
• Explore the use of AI and technology to improve business operations.
