Job summary

MTN Group is seeking a Manager - Security Engineer Vulnerability & EASM to strengthen proactive cyber defence by identifying and driving remediation of vulnerabilities across MTN's internal estate and external-facing attack surface.

You will lead the end-to-end vulnerability management lifecycle, explore AI and automation to triage, enrich and guide remediation, and collaborate with technology teams to reduce exploitable risk across MTN Group markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• 6+ years in information security with 3–4 years in vulnerability/attack surface management.
• Experience operating VM and EASM tooling at enterprise scale.
• Hands-on scripting/automation (Python, PowerShell) and data analysis.
• Exposure to AI tooling in security operations is preferred.

About the Role:

As the Manager - Security Engineer Vulnerability & EASM (External Attack Surface Management), you will play a key role in strengthening MTN Group's proactive Cyber Defence capabilities by identifying, prioritising and driving the remediation of vulnerabilities across the organisation’s internal technology estate and external-facing attack surface. You will manage the end-to-end vulnerability management lifecycle across infrastructure, cloud, applications and telecom/OT environments, while continuously monitoring MTN’s internet-facing assets to identify exposures before they can be exploited.

You will also play an important role in advancing the use of AI and automation within Vulnerability Management and EASM, exploring agentic AI and large-language-model capabilities to automate vulnerability triage, enrichment, remediation guidance and reporting. Through continuous innovation, threat analysis and close collaboration with technology teams, you will help reduce exploitable risk, strengthen MTN’s external security posture and build scalable, forward-looking exposure management capabilities across MTN Group markets.

What We’re Looking For:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, Engineering or a related field – or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years in information security, with at least 3–4 years dedicated to vulnerability management and/or attack surface management.
• Demonstrable experience operating enterprise VM and EASM tooling at scale.
• Hands-on scripting/automation (Python, PowerShell) and data analysis capability.
• Proven track record of driving measurable risk-reduction and remediation outcomes.
• Exposure to AI / agentic-AI tooling applied to security operations – strongly preferred.

Preferred Certifications:

• OSCP, GIAC (e.g., GWAPT, GEVA, GCTI), CISSP, CEH or equivalent.
• Cloud security certifications (e.g., AZ-500, AWS Security Specialty, CCSP).

Technical Skills & Tools:

• Vulnerability management: Tenable / Qualys or equivalent.
• Attack surface management: Microsoft Defender EASM / Shodan or equivalent.
• Prioritization frameworks: CVSS, EPSS, CISA KEV.
• Threat frameworks: MITRE ATT&CK; threat-intelligence integration.
• Data & automation: Python, SQL, Power BI, SOAR / workflow automation.
• AI: agentic-AI / LLM platforms (Anthropic Claude / Claude Code or equivalent); prompt and workflow design.
• Forward-thinking and curious – anticipates rather than reacts.
• Strong communicator who translates technical risk for non-technical audiences.
• Pragmatic problem-solver focused on real-world, achievable remediation.
• Collaborative, with the credibility to influence across teams and markets.
• Self-driven thought leader who raises the capability of those around them.
