Job summary

Transnet SOC Ltd in Johannesburg seeks an experienced Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) specialist to drive ESD strategies within the iSCM framework. You will lead policy implementation, monitor contracts, and report on ESD progress across TRIM and Transnet entities.

The role requires a relevant commercial degree or CIPS Level 4, at least eight years in supply management, and strong analytical and communication skills to influence stakeholders and ensure BBBEE alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent commercial qualification required.
• CIPS Level 4 certification preferred or equivalent experience.
• Eight years in a supply management function, ESD, localisation or BBBEE strategy development.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Implement enterprise and supplier development (ESD) strategies aligned to policy and regulation.
• Liaise with supply chain across Transnet/TRIM to monitor and report ESD activities.
• Train teams on ESD policies to ensure TRIM compliance in ESD transactions.
• Collate information and report on ESD transactions across TRIM and Transnet.
• Manage and monitor ESD contracts and progress within TRIM and OD.
• Contribute to iSCM execution via the Supplier Development Centre of Excellence.
• Research to support ESD and localisation strategies and identify opportunities with strategic suppliers.
• Track policy implementation and share success stories and learnings.

Job description

• To ensure implementation of Enterprise and supplier development strategies aligned to the broader national policy and regulatory framework.
• To liaise with the supply chain community across Transnet or TRIM to ensure that there is consistent implementations, monitoring and reporting of Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD)
• To conduct training initiatives for ESD policies and procedures to drive compliance with TRIM when entering ESD transactions.
• To collate information and compile reports on ESD transactions across TRIM.
• To manage and monitor Enterprise and Supplier Development contracts /progress across TRIM.
• Plays an active role in effective execution of the integrated Supply Chain Management Strategy (iSCM), specifically through participation in the Supplier Development Centre of Excellence (SD COE).
• Conduct research to support development of the ESD and Localisation strategies, processes, policies and procedures aligned to the new iSCM strategy and latest government imperatives;
• Continuously conduct research to contribute to thought leadership around ESD and Localisation; and
• Conduct analysis to support opportunity identification for Localisation and ESD transactions with strategic suppliers.
• Track Enterprise and Supplier Development strategy and policy implementation across Transnet or within the OD; and
• Collate success stories and learnings on supplier development.

Qualifications and Experience

• A relevant Bachelor’s degree (commercial) is required or CIPS Level 4
