ROLE CONTEXT
VedantaZinc International (VZI) is driving a company‑wide transformation agendafocused on improving operational performance, increasing productivity,enhancing asset utilization, optimizing costs, and delivering sustainablebusiness value across Mining, Processing, Engineering, Commercial, Projectsand Enabling Functions.
Tosupport this agenda, VZI has established a Transformation Office (TO) thatserves as the central performance management and execution engine responsiblefor converting operational opportunities into measurable business outcomes.The Transformation Office provides governance, performance visibility, valueassurance, initiative management, and leadership decision support across theorganisation.
The Manager: BusinessImprovement & Transformation Office (D4) is responsible for coordinating the TransformationOffice, driving business improvement initiatives, managing the transformationportfolio, establishing performance management disciplines, ensuring valuerealization, and enabling data-driven decision making across the business.The role acts as the primary integrator between initiative owners, workstreamleads, Finance, operational leadership, and the Chief Transformation Officer(CTO).
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Tolead the day-to-day operation of the Transformation Office by establishingperformance management disciplines, managing the business improvementportfolio, tracking value delivery, coordinating executive governanceprocesses, and ensuring transformation initiatives deliver measurable andsustainable results across VZI.
Therole ensures:
- A single source of truth for transformationand operational performance.

1. Transformation Office Governance & Management
- Manage the Transformation Office operating model and governanceframework.
- Facilitate weekly Transformation Office meetings and monthly executivereview forums.
- Coordinate workstream reviews, sponsor engagements and executiveupdates.
- Drive accountability across initiative owners and workstream leaders.
- Escalate critical performance and delivery risks to the CTO andExecutive Committee.
- Ensure adherence to Transformation Office standards, templates,methodologies and operating rhythms
- Maintain and govern the enterprise improvement opportunity pipeline.
- Facilitate identification, prioritization and approval of improvementinitiatives.
- Support initiative owners in developing implementation plans andbusiness cases.
- Track initiative progression through the defined L0-L5 implementationlifecycle.
- Manage initiative interdependencies and resource constraints.
- Monitor execution progress and intervene where delivery is at risk.
3. Performance Management & Reporting
- Develop and maintain executive performance dashboards and scorecards.
- Consolidate operational, financial and transformation performancedata.
- Monitor key operational performance indicators across Mining,Processing and Support Functions.
- Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly Transformation Office reports.
- Enable transparency and visibility of performance, targets, risks andactions.
- Ensure reporting accuracy and consistency across functions.
4. Value Delivery & Benefits Realisation
- Partner with Finance to validate initiative business cases and valueassumptions.
- Establish benefit tracking methodologies and realization frameworks.
- Identify value leakage and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure initiatives deliver measurable and sustainable businessbenefits.
- Support annual planning and transformation value target settingprocesses.
5. Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Develop and maintain business intelligence solutions supportingtransformation delivery.
- Design and manage Power BI dashboards, KPI scorecards, and reportingtools.
- Analyse operational and financial performance trends.
- Identify improvement opportunities through data analysis.
- Provide actionable insights to operational and executive leadershipteams.
- Support strategic decision making through advanced analytics andperformance modelling.
6. Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Drive root cause analysis and structured problem-solving activities.
- Facilitate improvement workshops across operational workstreams.
- Promote continuous improvement methodologies and best practices.
- Support operational teams in identifying and implementing performanceimprovement opportunities.
- Standardise performance management routines and business reviewprocesses.
- Embed a culture of accountability, ownership and continuousimprovement.
7. Stakeholder & ChangeManagement
- Build strong relationships acrossoperational, functional and executive leadership teams.
- Act as the central coordination pointbetween initiative owners and executives.
- Facilitate alignment across competingpriorities and initiatives.
- Support organisational change managementand transformation communication activities.
- Influence stakeholders to drivesustainable adoption of improvement initiatives.
- Foster collaboration across cross-functionalworkstreams.
8. Risk, Compliance & Assurance
- Maintain transformation risk registers andmitigation plans.
- Monitor initiative delivery risks andimplementation barriers.
- Ensure governance and assurance requirementsare met.
- Validate milestone completion and initiativehealth.
- Ensure compliance with VZI governancestandards and operating procedures.
9. People Leadership,Capability Building & Support
- Build capacity in planning, scheduling, costcontrol and governance compliance.
- Promote a culture of disciplined executionand continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Qualifications
- BEng / BTech / Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mining,Civil or equivalent).
- Project management certification (PMP, Prince2, PMBOK, Agile)advantageous.
Experience
- 8–12 years project management or engineeringexperience in mining, processing or industrial environments.
- Strong background in capital/SIB projectexecution and governance.
- Experience in multi-site program coordination or COE/central technicalroles beneficial.
- Proven track record in delivering projects on scope, on time, and onbudget.
TechnicalCompetence
- Strong project management, scheduling andcost control capability.
- Proficiency with project tools (MS Project,Primavera, SAP PS, dashboards).
- Understanding of engineering standards,safety systems and construction management.
- Solid knowledge of risk management,financial analysis and reporting.
- Ability to integrate technical, commercialand operational considerations.
