Job summary

Vedanta Zinc International (VZI) is seeking a Projects Commercial Controller for end-to-end commercial management of mining projects in the Northern Cape. The role requires leading contracting, partner selection, procurement, and handling legal commercial aspects through to contract closure.

You will drive spend reduction, contract performance management and strong governance, working across Engineering, Mining, Plant, Supply Chain and HSE to ensure optimal project progress and value delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to coordinate complex commercial activities on large-scale projects.
• Strong negotiation and partner-management skills are essential.
• Solid understanding of legal nuances in contracting and procurement.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end management of commercial aspects of Projects from contracting to contract closure.

Vedanta Zinc International (VZI) operates two major mining complexesin the Northern Cape:

Gamsberg – a large-scale open‑pit zinc mine requiring precise spatial control,accurate volumetric reporting and continuous survey support to enable safe,efficient and compliant mining to optimise profitability and longevity of theoperation.

Black Mountain Mine (BMM) – an underground operation where survey accuracy directlyinfluences development alignment, stope design, ore flow reconciliation andstatutory compliance.

The ProjectsCommercial Controller is responsible for end-to-end handling of all commercial aspects of Projects - fromcontracting, selection of right partners, procurement/package ordering,management of legal commercial aspects, until contract closure.

PURPOSE OFTHE ROLE

Reportingdirectly to the Head Projects -VZI with functional reporting to DirectorCommercial, Growth Projects -Africa, the incumbent will be responsible fordeveloping and implementing Project commercial strategies according tocompany goals, objectives, and governance standards, with the aim to supportoptimal Project progress.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Responsible for end-to-endhandling of all commercial aspects of Projects - from contracting, selectionof right partners, procurement/package ordering, management of legalcommercial aspects, until contract closure.
• 2. Responsible for drivingProjects spend reduction, business partner and contract performancemanagement, supply chain assurance and strong process governance
• 4. Commercial risk management and process de-bottlenecking.

QUALIFICATIONS,EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Qualifications

• Relevant degree (preferably ina technical field such as Engineering, Mining, Metallurgy etc).
• MBA will be highlyadvantageous.

Experience

• >10 years’ relevantexperience in leading the Commercial function on large scale projects inMining industry.
• Proven experience in EPC/EPCMtype of contracts

TechnicalCompetence

• Exceptional techno-commercialacumen, solid numerical skills and firm grasp of macro-economic concepts.
• Solid understanding of legalnuances and commercial contracting.
