What We’re Looking For

This senior role functions as a strategic analytics engineering technical expert and team lead, tasked with architecting data structures to optimise analytics and data modelling.

It provides actionable data‑driven insights critical for achieving organisational goals and informing operational decisions.

This role oversees independent contributors (typically 4‑6) and significantly influences project strategy and direction over Learning and Operations business areas across multiple products.

Key Data Used

Key data used in this role will include operational and customer experience data from Salesforce, Survey tools, communication tools (telephony, SMS, email), and Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Responsibilities

Technical cleanse and verify data integrity, enhancing data sources when required; exhibit best coding practices, adeptness in pipeline builds, and proficiency in transformation tools (dbt).

Analyse data to deliver data‑driven insights using proven data mining techniques.

Visualise data insights, communicate findings, and engage in data engineering tasks to optimise data pipelines and enhance analytical capabilities.

Manage effectively, support, and mentor analysts in a global team; maintain high standards, make timely decisions, and communicate effectively to oversee team dynamics and project execution.

Promote and guide adherence to internal Agile methodology within the team.

Communicate company vision with clarity and enthusiasm.

Business – collaborate with other analysts and stakeholders to execute projects; leverage business knowledge to enhance business performance; help guide business when making technical decisions.

Personal – perform research and constantly stay on top of the industry’s trends; engage and proactively seek opportunities for improvement through ongoing learning.

Background

5‑7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, business intelligence, or related technical roles.

0–1 year of people management or formal team leadership experience, including coaching and developing technical staff.

Skilled in data analysis, data engineering and business intelligence; advanced understanding of SQL, efficiently and effectively applies best coding practices and demonstrates ability to upskill / assist others.

Experience with dbt is recommended.

Skilled understanding of version control; efficiently create pull requests, collaborate, debug / track issues, document and host code.

Independently develop complex data models; experience with a BI reporting tool, such as Tableau.
