Job summary

Macrotec, located in South Africa, is hiring a Management Accountant to oversee our finance function and report directly to the MD. The successful candidate will prepare monthly management packs, build budgets and forecasts, and manage day-to-day accounting operations.

The ideal applicant will have a relevant qualification like CIMA or CMA, experience in financial analysis, and comfort with ERP systems like D365 Business Central. This role requires the ability to work independently and provide the MD with essential financial insights.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Management Accounting such as CIMA (CGMA), CMA, or BCom.
• Experience in preparing management reports and financial analysis.

About the job: Management Accountant

Macrotec designs and manufactures thermal process equipment for industrial clients across Africa and the Middle East.

We are hiring a Management Accountant to take ownership of our finance function, reporting directly to the MD.

What you will do

You will prepare monthly management packs, build budgets and forecasts, analyse variances, and provide the financial insight that drives business decisions.

You will also manage day-to-day accounting operations: month-end close, reconciliations, VAT, and coordination with external accountants and auditors.

You will be the person the MD turns to for a clear picture of where the business stands financially, what is working, and where attention is needed.

What we are looking for

• CIMA (CGMA), CMA, or BCom in Management Accounting or related qualification
• Experience preparing management reports and financial analysis
• Familiarity with an ERP system (we use D365 Business Central)
• Ability to translate numbers into business insight
• Comfortable working independently in a small, fast-paced team
