Placements24 is seeking an insightful Management Accountant to join the finance team in Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will develop management reports, budgets, forecasts, and cost analyses to guide operations and strategic planning in a hybrid work environment.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Management Accounting, 4+ years of relevant experience, strong budgeting and forecasting skills, and advanced Excel with ERP experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare management accounts (monthly P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Conduct variance analysis and identify budget drivers.
• Perform cost accounting, product costing and inventory valuation.
• Develop financial models to support decisions and strategic initiatives.
• Monitor KPIs and provide insights to management.
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and growing manufacturing company, is looking for an insightful Management Accountant to join their finance team in Kimberley, Northern Cape . This role is critical in providing financial insights and analytical support to guide business operations and strategic planning. You will be responsible for developing management reports, budgets, forecasts, and cost analysis to enhance profitability and efficiency. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with operational management and contribute directly to the company's success. The ideal candidate is proactive, possesses strong analytical skills, and has a solid understanding of management accounting principles. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, balancing office-based collaboration with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare timely and accurate management accounts, including monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
• Assist in the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
• Conduct variance analysis, identifying key drivers of deviations from budget and forecast.
• Perform cost accounting activities, including cost analysis, product costing, and inventory valuation.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights to management.
• Implement and refine internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
• Contribute to the improvement of financial systems and processes.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as required by management.
• Support the financial team in month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Management Accounting, or a related field; professional qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA) is a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in management accounting or a similar financial role.
• Strong understanding of management accounting principles, cost accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
