Job description

About the job

Cost Accountant

Macrotec designs and manufactures high‑temperature process equipment (incinerators, cremators, air pollution control systems) for clients across Africa and the Middle East.

We are looking for a Cost Accountant to own our finance function, reporting directly to the Managing Director.

What you will do

You will manage Macrotec's costing framework: building and maintaining product cost structures, analysing bills of materials, tracking project costs against budgets, and reporting on margins by product line and project. Beyond costing, you will run month‑end close, prepare management reports, handle reconciliations, and manage our relationship with external auditors and tax advisors.

This is not a back‑office number‑crunching role. You will work closely with our engineering and project teams to understand what drives costs and where value is created.

What we are looking for
  • BCom in Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, or related qualification
  • Experience with product costing, BOMs, or manufacturing cost analysis (preferred)
  • Familiarity with an ERP system (we use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central)
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and communicate financial information clearly
