The purpose of the Management Accountant role is to ensure the company’s financial health and support the effective management of its overall administrative operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role provides strategic and operational leadership across the finance, human resources, and inventory functions, ensuring sound financial management, efficient processes, and effective business support.
Requirements:
- A relevant tertiary qualification, such as a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting (BCom Accounting), Bachelor of Accounting (BAcc), Business Administration, or a Master of Business Administration (MBA), is preferred
- Professional membership or affiliation with recognised accounting bodies such as CIMA, SAIPA, or SAICA will be advantageous
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or production environment is preferred
- Demonstrates innovative thinking, strategic planning ability, and adaptability in a dynamic business environment.
- A collaborative team player with the ability to mentor, develop, and support staff
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Financial leadership
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategic financial modelling
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes; ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting
- Manage cash flow, treasury, banking relationships, and capital structure
- Ensure compliance with all tax, regulatory, and statutory requirements
- Present financial performance and strategic insights to the CEO/Directors
- Administration & Operational Leadership
- Oversee HR, IT, legal, compliance, and facilities functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Design and implement scalable operational processes and internal controls
- Partner with department heads to align administrative resources with strategic priorities
- Drive organisational efficiency initiatives, cost optimisation, and vendor management
- Risk Management & Governance
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and compliance risks
- Maintain and strengthen internal control frameworks and governance policies
- Serve as primary liaison for external auditors
- Develop and maintain business continuity and risk mitigation plans
- Strategic Partnership
- Act as a trusted adviser to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team
- Represent the company externally with banks and auditors
- General Management of Departments
- Provide direct line management and strategic oversight to relevant departments including Finance, HR, and Inventory Management.
- Set clear departmental objectives, KPIs, and performance targets aligned to the company overall strategic plan
- Conduct performance reviews with department heads, , feedback, and development support
- Ensure departments are adequately resourced, structured, and equipped to meet their operational mandates
- Report on departmental performance, risks, and resource requirements to the CEO on a regular basis
