Snatch | Accounting & Finance Headhunters is partnering with a rapidly growing consumer products business in Cape Town to recruit a Management Accountant. The role offers broad ownership of month-end reporting, consolidation across entities, and inventory/margin analysis.

You will drive automation in finance using cloud tools and AI, coordinate tax and statutory submissions, and support international requirements with advisers.

Qualifications

• Qualified CIMA, SAIPA or equivalent with hands-on month-end close and consolidation experience.
• Experience in inventory-led consumer products, retail or e-commerce.
• Knowledge of inventory valuation, landed costs and cost of goods sold.
• Experience across multiple entities and currencies is advantageous.
• Familiarity with South African tax requirements and coordinating with advisers.
• Confidence using cloud accounting tools and applying automation/AI to finance processes.

Responsibilities

• Take monthly accounts from reconciliations through to consolidated reporting.
• Track inventory costs and margins; perform product and channel margin analysis.
• Prepare cash reports and forecast inputs to support the Financial Manager.
• Oversee payables, receivables and retailer collections with approval controls.
• Maintain tax and statutory records; coordinate international requirements with advisers.
• Prepare year-end schedules and audit evidence; liaise with external auditors.
• Transfer accounting activities in-house and drive automation and AI improvements.

Ownership of accounting in a scaling business with international e-commerce and retail operations

Inventory-led consumer product or e-commerce experience, ideally across multiple entities and currencies, with a systems and automation mindset

Introduction:

A rapidly growing consumer products business with international e-commerce and retail operations is seeking a Management Accountant to join its Cape Town team. The role offers broad accounting ownership and the opportunity to help establish an internal finance function.

Reporting to the Financial Manager, you’ll manage month-end reporting, consolidation and operational accounting across multiple entities and currencies. You’ll also support inventory and margin analysis, maintain financial controls and use automation to improve the accuracy and efficiency of accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take the monthly accounts from reconciliations through to consolidated reporting, ensuring balances are accurate and ready for review.
• Track inventory costs and movements, investigate stock differences and produce product and channel margin analysis.
• Prepare cash reports and forecast inputs to help the Financial Manager anticipate payment needs.
• Oversee payables, receivables and retailer collections, ensuring payments follow agreed approval controls.
• Maintain tax and statutory records, complete South African submissions and coordinate international requirements with external advisers.
• Prepare year-end schedules and audit evidence, resolving queries with external auditors.
• Transfer accounting activities in-house and improve recurring processes through documentation, cloud tools, automation and AI.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Qualified CIMA, SAIPA or equivalent with hands-on experience managing month-end close, management accounts and consolidation.
• Experience in an inventory-led consumer products, retail or e-commerce business.
• Practical knowledge of inventory valuation, landed costs and cost of goods sold.
• Experience working across multiple entities and currencies would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with South African tax requirements and coordinating with external accounting or tax advisers.
• Confidence using cloud accounting tools and a keen interest in applying automation and AI to finance processes.
