Job summary

Kaitlin Mornet in Pretoria is seeking a qualified Maintenance Technician for a manufacturing environment. The role focuses on preventative and corrective maintenance to keep machinery operating safely and efficiently.

You will perform lubrication, inspections, start-ups and routine maintenance checks, report faults and safety risks, and ensure thorough maintenance records. Two rotating shifts and standby duties are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum N6 qualification as a Millwright.
• 3–5 years' maintenance experience in manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Good working knowledge of preventative and corrective maintenance.
• MS Word, Excel and Outlook literacy.
• Good command of English.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on equipment and facilities.
• Perform lubrication, inspections, equipment start-ups and routine maintenance checks.
• Identify and report equipment faults, breakdowns and potential safety risks.
• Complete maintenance job cards and ensure all maintenance activities and machinery changes are properly recorded.
• Monitor external contractors performing maintenance and repair work.
• Inspect lifting equipment and monitor battery levels.
• Assist with maintenance stock control, stocktakes and reporting of spare parts usage.
• Record daily water, gas and energy consumption.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with food safety and environmental requirements.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and wear the required PPE.
• Participate in standby duties according to the shift schedule.
