Job summary

Dante Personnel in KwaZulu-Natal seeks a qualified maintenance technician to diagnose and repair high-volume packaging machinery, including blow-moulding lines and associated plant systems. You will perform preventative maintenance, component swaps, and precise alignments to optimise line cycle times, while documenting root causes and actions.

• Experience with preventative maintenance on high-volume packaging lines.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and logic faults under production pressure.
• Hands-on skills with hydraulics and pneumatics.

Job description

Minimum requirements:

• Relevant Red Seal Technical Qualification Drive rapid fault-finding: Diagnose and resolve emergency mechanical, electrical, and logic faults under high-volume production pressure
• Execute packaging PMs: Run systematic preventative maintenance routines, component swaps, and precise machine alignments to optimize line cycle times
• Utilize electronic diagnostics: Traced electrical faults using basic PLC inputs/outputs and Variable Speed Drive (VSD) error codes.
• Service blow-moulding lines: Execute mechanical and electrical repairs on heavy extrusion blow-moulding machinery and automated IBC steel-cage assembly lines
• Maintain utility systems: Oversee critical packaging plant infrastructure, including high-pressure air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, and heavy conveyors
• Overhaul fluid power: Fault-find and rebuild complex industrial hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, cylinders, and proportional valves
• Breakdown Response & PMs Sector Compliance & Logs
• Uphold FSSC 22000 hygiene: Apply strict food-grade contamination and tool-control protocols required in clean-room container manufacturing
• Enforce plant safety: Execute strict lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols for heavy machinery intervention
• Log technical data: Record precise breakdown root causes, technical actions, and component consumption in the plant maintenance ledger
