Job summary

BMW Group SA, based in Rosslyn, South Africa, seeks a Maintenance Planner to anticipate delays by coordinating maintenance resources, parts and equipment access. The role reports to the Painted Body Maintenance Planning Manager and focuses on planning all planned maintenance activities at the site.

You will create and maintain Preventative Maintenance plans in SAP, drive data-driven improvements, and contribute to cost steering and contract management.

Job Description

The Painted Body Maintenance Planner’s job is to anticipate and eliminate potential delays in production by planning, coordinating maintenance resources, parts, materials and equipment access.The Maintenance Planner reports to the Painted Body Maintenance Planning Manager. Responsibilities include planning and coordinating all planned maintenance activities performed at the site.

What awaits you?

• Responsible for topics like Test Equipment Management, Load testing, equipment cleaning and legal compliance topics in both Body shop and Paint shop.
• Responsible for contract management and maintenance cost steering.
• Create and maintain Preventative Maintenance plans, BOMs, part numbers, standard work routines, task lists etc. in SAP.
• Prepare reports, analyse data, make recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance related problems.
• Continually improving and optimizing planning, scheduling, data management and job reporting systems to increase planning effectiveness and efficiency.
• Drive digitalization initiatives.
• Planning and execution of Major Repair, Maintenance and Invest projects.

What should you bring along?

• National Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent) or Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent).
• The equivalent of 2 years of professional experience in a manufacturing role or maintenance technician role or maintenance planning role.
• Processing experience in SAP (STARD) – Planned Maintenance and Processing.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental Standards and legal standards linked to manufacturing technology.
• Microsoft Office proficient.
• Problem solving skills (RCA training is preferred).
• Digitalization experience.
