Job summary

BMW Group SA in Rosslyn, South Africa, seeks a Painted Body Material Planner to manage spare parts materials, plan orders, and ensure uninterrupted production flow. You will optimize inventory, coordinates with production and suppliers, and maintain accurate SAP data to support timely deliveries.

The role requires a Diploma/degree in engineering or supply chain, plus 2+ years in inventory management and SAP MM/PM.

Qualifications

• 2+ years inventory management experience.
• 2+ years SAP experience (MM/PM).
• 3+ years MS Office skills.
• 3+ years professional communication skills.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental Standards.
• Self-motivated with strong communication, project management and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred: paint/body shop experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine required materials and generate purchase orders.
• Ensure materials meet specs, quality standards, and are cost-efficient.
• Maintain consistent and adequate supply for production/maintenance.
• Coordinate with production goals, timelines, and supplier payments.
• Track production volume and monitor demand patterns.
• Schedule and oversee material delivery and rotables.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and distributors.
• Manage inventory issues, schedule changes and cancellations.
• Prepare cost estimates and performance reports.
• Update material master data in SAP.
• Resolve inventory discrepancies through audits and cycle counts.
• Establish SAP frame contracts with suppliers.
• Prepare reports and recommendations to improve material planning.
